Abstract
Sex education can either be comprehensive or abstinence based. Research suggests that adolescents who received either abstinence-based or comprehensive sex education developed healthier sexual behaviors than adolescents who did not receive any formal sex education. However, there is minimal information on the impact of type of sex education on perception of shame and guilt in young adults related to sexual behavior. The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between the type of sex education received during adolescence and other predictor variables on perception of shame and guilt in young adults related to sexual behavior. Does abstinence based sex education during adolescence lead to higher levels of shame and guilt perceptions related to sexual behavior in young adulthood compared to comprehensive sex education? This study will be a cross-sectional survey and will use multiple regression for statistical analysis. The estimated sample size required is 92.
