Abstract
Delinquency or the association of committing small crimes has become an increasingly popular phenomenon among youth populations within recent decades, and its ability to sponsor criminal behaviors among students is even more menacing. Albert Bandura's Social Learning Theory developed the concept of differential association to create an initiative in understanding the sociological roots of criminal behavior. Aker's research on the Social Learning Theory cemented his legacy as a world-renown criminologist and identified a necessity to understand delinquent behaviors. "The Secret to Being Delinquent" builds upon Ronald Aker's version of the Social Learning Theory to identify a correlation between delinquent behavior and college students. This study will provide empirical evidence in determining what delinquent behaviors are evident within college campuses.
