Texas Journal of School Improvement

Aims & Scope

With a focus on evidence-based practice, the exploration and dissemination of knowledge through applied research, and collaboration, the Texas Journal of School Improvement publishes research and theoretical articles on systemic and sustainable improvement in schools.


The Texas Journal of School Improvement aims to investigate school improvement from multiple perspectives, inviting articles from the researchers and practitioners at the classroom, campus, and system levels as well as the effects of state and federal legislation. The Editors welcome articles that include but are not limited to:


  • School reform and improvement
  • Effective Use of Data
  • Program Evaluation
  • Instructional Interventions
  • Professional Learning Communities
  • Policy Reform
  • Leadership


This online journal publishes studies using quantitative, qualitative, and mixed approaches. It does not adhere to any one methodology. Design Based Research or Design Based Implementation Research are of particular interest to the editors.
