Abstract
In 2017, women comprised 46% of the full-time faculty; 7% were Black, 5% were Hispanic, and 70% were White (USDOE, 2018). According to the Institute of International Education (2019), approximately 137,000 international faculty scholars were working in higher education in the United States. Because almost 80% of international faculty scholars work in STEM fields and women historically have been underrepresented in STEM fields, international faculty women working in higher education are also grossly underrepresented. The purpose of this workshop is to share the stories of three women, who despite the odds, are currently in early-, mid-, and senior-level faculty at institutions of higher education.
