Abstract
In this study, selected Texas principal preparation programs were examined using publicly accessible data from TEA and respective selected accredited sites. A brief overview of the five principal standards was discussed to help detail the many roles and responsibilities school principals have, which support the purpose of the current research towards appropriate preparation of special education content and knowledge. An examination of principal preparatory programs in Texas is necessary to address the effectiveness of principal leadership. Concern for the general inconsistency of related training in accredited principal preparation programs in Texas is supported by the results of this review.
