Abstract

A survey of movie theaters, on or near the courthouse plaza of Tyler, Texas, beginning with moving pictures shown in other venues, through the "Empire" which was the first primarily movie theater, down to the iconic "Tyler" theater in 1940, the last one to open downtown.
