Abstract
Patient safety and safe staffing have been an issue for a long time. It has been discovered by prior years within our hospital setting that by having Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) help Registered Nurses (RN), the increasing staff load was okay due to the fact that they had an extra helping hand. Overall, patient safety was increased when LVN's were helping in the acute care setting.
