This collection includes the meeting records of the Board of Regents of Tyler State College (1971-1975), and Texas Eastern University (1975-1979), before the university became the University of Texas at Tyler as part of the UT System in 1979. Collection includes meeting minutes and agendas, correspondence, administrative notes, and supplementary documents (1973-1979). Records are primarily from the Office of the President during the administrations of James H. Stewart, Jr. Once the university joined the University of Texas System in 1979, the Tyler State College/Texas Easter University Board of Regents were disbanded.
