Abstract
An Intensive Care Unit(ICU) Nurse Liaison(ICU NL) provides an affordable method to interacting with patients and staff members. By working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, it has been shown to be cost effective. An ICU NL will provide patient-centered care to the acute patient before and after ICU care. This outreach program is designed to reduce length of stay in ICU and reduce ICU readmissions. In addition, it will be seen as a resource to Medical-Surgical Nurses requiring additional education on complex care.
