Abstract

SAE Baja is an intercollegiate design competition hosted by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). In this competition, students from all over the world compete to design, build, and race off-road vehicles that can withstand the roughest elements of harsh terrain. In these races the vehicles built go through multiple dynamic events including hill climbs, sled pulls, maneuverability events, rock crawls, suspension & traction events, as well as a 4-hour endurance race. This year’s team focused on the design of the braking, controls, pedal box, and electrical systems with the goal of systemic integration of the frame and suspension assemblies from last year’s team.
