Abstract

To design, test and prototype a self-erecting wind turbine system that minimizes wind turbine cost of installation and maintenance. The system is able to self-erect the tower and the nacelle safely by means of an electro-mechanical system that utilizes a climbing crane. The design increases tower height and in turn increases wind turbine power generation capacity all while reducing installation costs.
