Human resource development (HRD) is a process for developing and unleashing human expertise through organization development and personnel training and development for the purpose of improving performance. Careers in this field are available in business, nonprofit, educational and governmental settings.

The HRD program provides students the opportunity to combine study and related experiences to develop, apply, analyze, synthesize and evaluate knowledge of the purposes, practices, issues and problems of work and community education. Students also have the opportunity to learn how to design, deliver and evaluate effective training and development programs.
